Ozone Sirocco 3 - Voile Paramoteur EN B - Progression
The Sirocco is derived from the Speedster with a gain in weight but also agility and performance. Designed primarily for intermediate and advanced riders who enjoy long rides, it is nonetheless dynamic and very pleasant to ride, including tight turns close to the ground and slalom. Its low weight makes it an ideal travel companion.
The Rid'Air team's opinion: " ... "
Its modern design incorporates a "full reflex" profile and the latest technologies that have appeared on our high performance paraglider wings, reworked by paramotor pilots and validated by the world's best. Although developed specifically for paramotoring, the Sirocco's performance and agility also allow it to be used for free flight - soaring, thermalling and even cross country flying.
The Pilot
The Sirocco is designed for both intermediate and advanced pilots. Its takeoff and flight behavior are so accessible that it is as suitable for pilots of lesser wings such as the Roadster or Kona who want to progress as it is for experienced pilots who don't want the higher mental load imposed by longer wings.
Speed and Stability
Speed and stability are the key points of a good paramotor wing. The Sirocco is fast and, even more importantly, its strength allows you to use the full speed range. The trimmers allow you to reach a high cruising speed without having to push the gas pedal. At maximum speed, the Sirocco remains very resistant to collapse, even in turbulence, and the riser action makes it easy to control the wing without distorting the profile. The risers are simple and easy to use, and you can use the full range of the foot speed bar regardless of the trim position. Unlike other paramotor wings, it is possible and safe to accelerate fully even when the trimmers are in the standard (slow) position without reducing the intrinsic stability of the profile.
The OZRP reflex profile has been particularly carefully thought out and tested, and is not only strong and fast, but also forgiving of errors. Increasing the "reflex" level of a profile can have a negative impact on take-off, handling, fuel consumption and passive safety. For us, these characteristics are extremely important and cannot be overlooked, so we worked hard until we found a coupling between an internal structure and stable profiles that increased the speed range of the Sirocco.
Efficiency
The Sirocco benefits from a better sink rate and glide than the Speedster as well as a better top speed that contributes to better sailing performance. The wing is lighter, more agile and the handling is more precise, resulting in an even more playful and dynamic wing. Ground handling and inflation are also easier with a lighter wing, which helps with shorter takeoffs.
Agility
At Ozone, every wing is designed with piloting at the center of our concerns. From the humblest of our school wings to the highest performance competition wings, we want our wings to give their pilots pleasure. Hundreds of hours of testing and development by our R&D team and some of the best pilots in the world are behind the agility and responsive handling of the Sirocco 3. It is an agile and fun wing that provides a more paraglider-like experience than a normal reflex paramotor wing.
The Sirocco 3 can be delivered mounted with the TST control system or with the 2D system. In either case, the other system is supplied with the wing so that you can change it to suit your preferences. The character of the Sirocco 3 is naturally dependent on the wing loading, but it can be transformed by changing the control system. The TST set-up is perfect for cruising while the 2D set-up gives authority to the wing, which becomes more dynamic and reactive as needed during low altitude maneuvers or slalom races. Choosing either setup allows you to tailor the character of the wing to your preferred type of flying.
Takeoff
Inflating and ground handling are especially important for fun and safety. The Sirocco 3's lightweight fabric makes it even easier to inflate and control the wing on the ground. We have worked on the Sirocco 3's ground handling to the point where it inflates smoothly and effortlessly, even without wind, while ensuring that it remains docile and does not overtake the pilot in strong winds.
Legacy
The Sirocco was the first lightweight paramotor wing designed by Ozone. Since then, twenty years of development has allowed us to bring out a wing that is both top of the class in performance while being one of the lightest.
We are continually working to develop the Sirocco range of wings, always going the extra mile to improve the design so that they are better, safer and more fun to fly while keeping their weight to a minimum. A long process of development and fine-tuning has allowed us to reach the level we were looking for with fun to fly, overall ease of use, outstanding top speed and high performance that will put the Sirocco 3 at the top of many paramotor pilots' lists.
Structure
The Sirocco 3 benefits from concepts proven on the Sirocco 2, the Freeride slalom and our range of performance gliders: the arch, planform, aspect ratio, line point position, profile and opening position are very similar to those of the Sirocco 2 but combined with the Freeride's internal structure and line plan. Tension bands have been added to the upper surface to increase tension and distribute it more evenly along the span, improving the cohesion of the wing and the feel of the flight.
Fast and powerful
Optimized 3D cutting of the leading edge reduces drag and increases lift. Two more cells and a cleaner leading edge combined with reduced line drag, an optimized profile and extended trim travel make the Sirocco 3 the best performing wing in the series and, even compared to the Speedster 3, it offers a gain in sink rate, glide and top speed. It is ideal for long sailing, classic racing and slalom.
Stable and safe
Over the entire speed range, the OZRP optimized reflex profile withstands heavy turbulence without closing and is therefore suitable for flight in thermal conditions. The wing is certified according to EN 926-1 and accepted by the DGAC, our internal tests show that the Sirocco 3 performs similarly to previous models in the series and matches the EN C level when the trimmers are in the slow position.
*Please note that the Sirocco 3 has not been tested by an independent laboratory to EN 926-2.
Choose your style
The character of the Sirocco 3 depends on the wing loading and choice of control system. In the middle of the weight range and with TST braking, the wing climbs very well, it is perfectly suited for touring. The 2D system improves responsiveness, agility and control over the wing. When flying at the top of the weight range the wing becomes much more dynamic and agile, its precision then makes it a perfect wing for evolutions close to the ground or for fun in slalom.
Differences from the Sirocco 2:
- Optimized 3D cutting of the leading edge
- More casing and better drop rate
- More performance for reduced fuel consumption
- Increased top speed
- Extended speed range at trims
- More precise and dynamic steering
- Factory pre-installed TST or 2D system, choose your style.
Polyvalence, agility and fun
The Sirocco 3 is our most versatile paramotor wing, it will satisfy a wide variety of pilots and flying styles. A wing at ease in all situations, fantastic in navigation and traditional competitions, it is perfectly capable of spectacular ground level maneuvers and slalom performance. Choose your style.
